This pedestal is perfect for the largest Bird Girl statue (style #7779, 37.5″h). The finish on the pedestal is the same one that’s on all of the Bird Girl statues. Dimensions are 16″w x 13″d x 12″ h. Sold separately from statue.

The pedestal arrived timely and is beautiful. My only suggestion is attaching the mounting instructions. I am not sure how to attach the Bird Girl and instructions for placing it in the garden properly

One good way to attach the statue to the base is to use a very strong epoxy. If you go to a Lowe’s Home Improvement, Home Depot, or similar hardware store, you will be able to find many brands. One that I’ve used many times is the Loctite Heavy Duty quick set. But there are other brands that work just as well. The two main materials used to make the statues are resin and fiberglass.
Two brands that work well are:
LOCKTITE, Epoxy Marine
JB WELD, Clear Weld Professional Grade Epoxy
If you’d like to secure the pedestal to the ground, here’s a suggestion:
TO SECURE YOUR STATUE AND PEDESTAL IN THE GROUND:
Many people will dig an area into the ground underneath the statue about 8-10″ deep. Put small rebar metal rods criss crossed on the bottom of the hole. Then fill the hold with a quick dying/setting cement mix (can be purchased at Lowe’s or Home Depot). As the mixture starts to dry, carefully place the statue base (or additional pedestal if you’ve purchased that, and glued the statue base to the pedestal), about 1 – 1.5″ into the cement. Let the cement dry.

The pedestal ( height 12”) for the Bird Girl statue ( 37.5”) is perfect. Both statue & pedestal are of absolutely excellent craftsmanship. The company owner is very helpful & answers all questions. Both look more expensive than they are. Packing was superb! If you buy the tall Bird Girl statue the pedestal is a must if you want to show her off well. Ask Mr. Caldwell, the owner, what glue to use for attaching pedestal & statue. Follow his advice & you will be very pleased as I was.

I purchased this beautiful item and am very pleased with it. My only concern would be is could ir withstand a good windstorm. It has a lovely finish and makes me smile when I see it in my courtyard. The detailing is wonderful.

Hi Noel. We recommend that you use a strong epoxy (something like LOCTITE Instant Mix Epoxy) to affix the statue to the pedestal. Also for further stability, to prevent the statue and pedestal from blowing over in a strong wind storm, you can dig out from under the pedestal area about 6″ deep, fill hole with quick set concrete, and gently place the pedestal and statue into the concrete. Spread the concrete 1-2 inches around the bottom of the pedestal. Once it dries, you’ll have a very secure and stable installation. I hope that this suggestion helps.
