Boy & Dog was sculpted in 1958 by Sylvia Shaw Judson in bronze for a private residence.
The statue measures 21”x12”x20” and is available in both bronze and sandstone finishes.

I got my statue of boy and dog and my sister-in-law will get one too. I will keep mine here in Arlington, VA and she will put hers on my brother’s grave in North Carolina. My brother was the “boy”. He posed for Sylvia Shaw Judson in 1958. He died on January 1 and this statue will always remind us of him. He loved dogs his whole life.

Earlier this week (January 1) the “Boy”, John McCutcheon, died of cancer. Glad the sculpture is available. The dog was Rosy O’Grady who adopted Sylvia Judson in a mutual love fest just after the sculpture was completed and she lived till about 1965.

We got the Boy & Dog earlier this week. He doesn’t disappoint. We also have the large Bird Girl, the smaller Bird Girl, & the Little Gardener. They are all exquisite. We ordered the pedestal to place under the Little Gardener & the Large Bird Girl. They seem to add extra substance to both statues. Will probably order one for the Boy & Dog as well. The company ( in particular Brian) is great to deal with. We have a longer delivery time frame as we are Canadians, but well worth the wait. Unbelievable packaging. Everything has arrived in perfect condition. To the craftsmen and women who make these 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼.

When I first saw this I gasped. I have been looking for something to honour my young son who died in March. He loved all dogs and was always hugging and playing with them … this statue seemed to capture the essence of him completely … timeless, neither modern or old fashioned … not twee, like so many statues of children are … it’s perfect. I have just ordered it and hope it lives up to my expectations, the fact that this company are affiliated with the original artist’s estate gives me confidence.

After seeing the Boy & Dog statue in Signals catalog a few years ago, I finally ordered it directly from Potina in the bronze finish. It arrived in 3 weeks as expected and was packaged well, arriving damage-free. It is a heartwarming tribute to and reminder of my young sons playing with our dachshund in the backyard. It is beautifully done & I can only imagine it does justice to the Sylvia Shaw Judson original. I am looking forward to enjoying it for many years to come, long after the backyard sounds of laughter & fun have drifted away.

We have had our eye on the “Boy & Dog” statue for some time, so I purchased it as a surprise for my wife and she loves it. The quality is excellent and the finish is especially well done.
